About

'Kawaii eto Kowai' is about Fashion, mostly Japanese Street Fashion and especially Lolita, but you'll also see events. These events may be fashion shows or friendly tea parties. Most posts are daily outfits, and you'll follow me through different styles, such as Gyaru, and Visual Kei too.

The name, 'Kawaii eto Kowai' translates to 'Cute uh, Scary' and refers to how similar those words may sound and also how often the line between Cute and Scary are blurred or crossed over and over. It's also offering you a choice, Kawaii or Kowai?

My interest in Japanese Fashion probably originates from reading Manga and watching Anime in my teens, a habit that continues. Since I enjoy that art, I desire to learn the Japanese language and culture. (After all, jokes make more sense with the cultural context.) I'm actually interested in learning many languages, about cultures, and visiting countries to see for myself.

Fashion and Art are both fun, and about enjoying what you do. Although there are often rules and guidelines to each style of fashion, like art, it's encouraged to push the boundaries, because after all, Creativity should be boundless.

You'll notice my penchant for Food related clothes or accessories, and well, that's because I love to eat! No lie. That's why I also have a Food Blog, which I sometimes link to if that portion of the event or day was more Food Oriented.

Fashion is a passionate hobby. I have modeled a bit, which I blog about in This Blog. And I dream of modeling part time professionally, or having time to design and make my own fashion.

Also, I dabble in Cosplay, which will have a blog of its own once I have enough material to work with.

O, and I love puns. So prepared to be Punished.

Just like the rest of my life, this About Page is a Work In Progress.

    1. Thanks so much! My feet are abnormal so flip flops are the most comfortable. I will try to post more often. I have a huge backlog, actually.

    2. You're welcome!
I've noticed that you don't get comments here that often so that's why I hope that won't stop you from posting.
Anyways, I love flip flops myself and looking forward to seeing new posts of you wearing them.
